PoE is fully known as Power Over Ethernet, which refers to the power supply over Ethernet copper cables such as 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX,

The PoE function is outside the switch and is applied between a normal switch and a network terminal device, which can supply power to 

the network terminal device through the network cable.Midspan PSE (Mid Span Power Supply Equipment) is a specialised power management

and the other connects to the remote device.
